'Kiernan Gildea, Chief Commissioner (Youth Programme) has decided to award the upper portion of this year's 'Promise & Law' badge to any members of the Association who ACTIVELY assists in flood relief work.... This can include home visits to the elderly or infirm, carrying supplies (e.g. water) to persons housebound by the floods or organising the supply of relief materials (clothing etc).
Members throughout the country are encouraged to ACTIVELY assist those in need of comfort or material good and to live the Scout Promise & Law to the full in these challenging times.
A simple statement from a Group Leader to Ms. Gillian Keogh at National Office stating that 'xx members of the Group actively assisted in flood relief' will ensure that the appropriate number of badges are sent directly to the Group Leader.
There are a limited number of badges available and these will be distributed on a 'first come' basis. No additional badges will be ordered.
