Event Completed!
This County event was hosted by 65th Greenhills with County Commisioner Anna Davy co-ordinating from behind the curtains (thanks Nanna ). A good night was had by all with a chance for County leaders and parents to relax and mix without the pressures of Scouting.
The quiz kicked off at about a quarter to ten (8:30 sharp Scout time!), with a wide range of questions ranging from celebrity anagrams & trick questions to Scouting knowledge & celebrity anagrams. The mysterious table six won the night by a long shot, while tables two and three had to be separated by a tie-breaker for 2nd and 3rd place. And a mention must go to the wooden spoon winners - big Phil & Mary, who bravely entered a two-person table.
The real competition was going on in the lower ranks of the competition, with tables belonging to the younger (*koff*) leaders slugging it out for pride and bragging rights. Team 'Braintrust', with their obvious skills in the anagram section were disappointed to finish last of the trio, while team 'I-swear-we-still-count-as-younger-leaders' came in a surprising second despite being able to answer the questions in arabic when required. The real shock was team 'Primary Colours' whose twelve-man team came top of the mini-league, after placing last in every previous quiz between the teams. Fingers were pointed at their new super-sub "Andy" (if that is his real name),
Now we know! - a bride doesn't walk up the aisle, mixed-up presbyterians are the same as Britney Spears, someone-someone-avich got the first perfect ten in gymnastics and it was Sparrow who killed***** Robin.
All-in-all, a good night was had, with the last of the stragglers not leaving till one in the morning. More importantly, a substantial amount of €€€'s were raised, that we can use to make next weeks County Camp better than ever.
